The Book
BABE is about Babe Ruth who grows up in a foster home and lives in a small
house in Baltimore. He grows up to be a big famous baseball player that makes a
name for himself and gets a lot of attention. The theme of the book is baseball
is his life it was centered around the sport. The setting could be his small
house with his tiny backyard and growing up without parents. Overtime the
setting would probably change overtime because he becomes rich and famous and
he was living big.
“The
house on Emory Street where Ruth was born was one part of a four-unit house.
Each unit was 12 ½ feet wide and the house was 60 feet deep, with a small
backyard and a front door opening directly to the sidewalk.” Babe changed
overtime he became very good at baseball led his team in school. After school
he was in the minor leagues and worked his way up to the majors and won a pennant
in Boston. Babe Ruth also broke the all-time home run record and broke many
more.
